ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Samos. Circa 408/4-380/66 BC. AE (Bronze, 13 mm, 3.23 g, 6 h). Head of Hera to right, wearing stephane ornamented with three annulets, circular earring and elaborate necklace. Rev. ΣA Facing scalp of a lion. HGC 6, 1250. SNG Copenhagen 1692-1693. SNG von Aulock 2298-2299. An exceptional example with a lovely glossy patina and a wonderful reverse. Good extremely fine.
